How to Put Video on your Psp - the Easy Way
January 6th, 2009Putting video on the PSP is not as easy as it sounds. But with a quick step-by-step guide, you should get around to it and actually maybe understand whats happening. This article will show you how to put video on your psp.
Step 1
You need a good memory stick, depending what type of length of video you want to watch. I encourage you to get a 512MB memory stick.
Step 2
Connect the computer and the PSP together, making sure that the PSP is switched off to begin with, and switch the PSP on once the connection is made.
Step 3
Turn on your PSP, and go to the Settings Menu. In this menu select USB Connection and press X. Your computer should now detect your psp as an extra removable drive. Your computer will assign a letter to this drive. Lets call it X: for future reference.
Step 4
Go to this removable drive with your Windows Explorer. There is a folder called PSP there. Create a new folder called MP_ROOT at this level if it is not already created. (So you will have X:MP_ROOT).
NOTE: DO NOT ERASE THE OTHER FOLDERS UNDER X:PSP THEY SHOULD BE CALLED GAMES, MUSIC, SAVEDDATA AND PHOTO OR THE PSP FOLDER
Step 5
In the MP_ROOT folder we just created (X:MP_ROOT), create a folder named 100MNV01 if it is not already present. You will get X:MP_ROOT100MNV01.
Step 6
You are going to have to take the videos you have, and convert them to mp4 format if they are not already in this format.
Step 7
Copy the mp4 files to the folder we just created on the memory stick (X:MP_ROOT100MNV01). Save the movies you want to watch in the folder 100mnv01 and then you are ready to rock! The movies can be started by clicking on the saved image inside the memory card. One thing to note though is that the movies need to be in MP4 format and if you want to convert your existing DVDs etc to this format you may want to get some specialized software.
Step 8
Now all you need to do is start downloading MP4 videos. A search for MP4 videos in Google in July of 2006 brought up 4,660,000 results, so theres plenty to choose from! Once you have your video(s) downloaded on to your PSP, go to Video > Memory Stick, and there you should see the thumbnail file of the video. To play the video, click on the thumbnail. You can access the screen display modes via the triangle button. There are four to choose from. Now you know how to put videos on PSP, so enjoy your viewing!
The site below is the biggest PSP Download Center where you can find games, movies, music, cheat codes, game reviews, software and everything you need to turn your boring PSP into a personal multimedia entertainment unit. I have been using this site for a couple of month and i am very satisfied. You will only need to copy downloaded file on your PSP. I recommend it to everyone who has PSP.
